Thinking about joining? The joining process lives on the website:
what joining looks like walks through it
from the Discord invite to your first operation, with the weekly schedule and
the questions people ask most.
This page is the part the website does not cover: getting your machine ready.
Set aside an hour, most of which is a download running in the background.
The current preset lives in the #current-modpack channel on Discord. It is
one curated preset covering every operation, so there is no hunting down
individual mods, and it stays stable for long stretches rather than changing
weekly.
To load it:
It is a large download. Start it the day you join, not an hour before an
operation.
Operations run on TeamSpeak, not Discord voice. Discord is for organising, and
TeamSpeak is for playing.
Download it from teamspeak.com.
Take TeamSpeak 3, not TeamSpeak 5, and install it to your C drive.
ACRE2 looks for it there, and installing it elsewhere is the usual reason the
radios do not work.
The 64 bit client is available directly:
TeamSpeak3 Win64.
The server address is in the Server Info channel on Discord.
ACRE2 makes voice work by distance and over radios. It is most of why
operations sound the way they do.
If the plugin is not there, TeamSpeak is almost certainly not on the C drive.
The ACRE2 documentation
covers using the radios once you are in.
Join the server on a quiet evening, or use your Basic Combat Training slot.
Check the mods load, and that you can hear and be heard.
Finding a problem on a Tuesday costs you nothing. Finding it at step off costs
forty other people their time.
Booking a place on an operation is its own system, and it is worth five
minutes:
If something here is wrong or out of date, say so in Discord. This is written
by hand and only stays right when people mention that it is not.
